Zed Nelson - Hilbilly Heroin

These images stood out to me in relation to this assignment as they deal with similar themes. Not so much the clubbing scene but the effects of intoxicating substances and dependance upon them within a small community.
Club scenes in cities, are in a way their own small communities attracting a certain niche of people who are all tied together by interest in a particular music/scene/fashion ect.
I thought it was interesting to observe the ways in which Nelson presents these ideas in his photographs.
unusual compositions and fairly tight crops reveal vital information without diminishing the requirement to really spend time with the image establishing what is going on.
